Joey
In his free time, this outgoing teenager can most likely be found playing video games, watching television or listening to music. Skate boarding is another activity that Joey enjoys. When asked what his favorite food is, Joey quickly responded with “anything”. If given the choice of a place to eat, Joey would pick Red Lobster every time.

Joey states that he would like a family with siblings and a pet. Joey is currently involved in therapy to help him make good choices. Joey will need a family that is able to provide him with consistent structure and supervision as he continues to work through some significant issues. Joey really wants to be adopted. He wishes it wouldn’t take so long to find his forever family. If you think you may be the family for Joey, please contact Jana Howell, Adoption Caseworker, at 937-562-6600, ext. 694.
Nikolas
It’s cliché, but the way to this young man’s heart really may be through his stomach! When I asked Nikolas what he liked to eat, he just laughed. The bottom line is Nikolas just loves to eat. Nikolas’ favorite fast food restaurant is Taco Bell, and he chooses to eat there on his birthday each year. Chinese food is another favorite.

Nikolas likes art and crafts and is proud of the many projects he has created. Other favorite activities include listening to hip hop music and riding his bike. Nikolas enjoys fishing and spending time outdoors.

Nikolas will need a family that can give him extra support with school and is willing to continue his counseling services. Nikolas has had some past disappointments regarding adoption, but is open to meeting a family that is interested in getting to know him.

If you would like to know more about Nikolas, please contact Jana Howell, Adoption Caseworker, at (937) 562-6600, ext. 694.

Jason - available for adoption from Greene County Children Services
Hi, this is Jason. Jason is a wonderful child and loves to stay busy. He has many interests, but his favorites are playing softball and tennis, participating in the bucket band, and choir at school. Jason really enjoys arts, crafts, and building things. He likes going to the movies and helping others. Jason has 2 siblings that he has contact with and he enjoys spending time with them as well as with his foster family.

Jason has experienced a lot of trauma in his life which has resulted in a lot of angry feelings for Jason. This anger and other emotions come out in his behaviors which he has been trying to work through. For being as young as he is, Jason is very insightful about feelings and behaviors and seems comfortable discussing these things. He is such a loving boy and is sincerely remorseful when he acts out in anger. Jason is currently attending counseling to address his mental health and behavioral issues.

Jason can do well given the right interventions and the right family. His forever family will need to be patient and be there for Jason as he works through his trauma. Jason is the type of child that can really make progress and have a wonderful future.

If you would like more information about Jason, please contact Alison McCarren at (937) 562-6600, ext. 533.

Katrina
If you like performing arts, traveling, or sports then you need to meet Katrina. Katrina is an outgoing and friendly young lady who is adventurous and like to try new things. Some of her favorite things to do are singing, playing the guitar and dancing. She was recently involved in a performing arts group in school and enjoyed it. Katrina also enjoys drawing and play sports (soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, and softball). Katrina also enjoys camping and spending time at the beach. When she gets bored, Katrina watches television and her favorite channels are ABC Family, Disney, National Geographic, and Animal Planet (which is no surprise since she likes horses and dolphins).

Although Katrina loves to eat, especially fettuccine alfredo and pizza, she also likes to stay active in order to maintain a healthy weight. When she has the chance to exercise, she like to lift weights or do Zumba.

Katrina has so many great qualities about her; however she does have some behaviors that are a result of the abuse and neglect she has experienced. Katrina is currently participating in mental health services to address the trauma. Katrina will need a family who will continue to provide her with these services.

If you would like more information about Katrina, please contact Alison McCarren at (937) 562-6600, ext. 533.
Austin
Don’t let Austin’s initial quietness fool you, this kid can really talk when he gets comfortable. Austin’s foster parents describe him as both respectful and helpful. Austin will be in the eighth grade this coming school year. When asked what class he likes best, Austin said, “Math, because I am really good at it.”

When not in school, Austin loves to play sports. Football and basketball are his two favorites. This summer, Austin plans to attend several sports camps. Playing basketball at the park and swimming are also high on Austin’s list of summer priorities. When not outside, you can usually find Austin listening to music or playing video games. When it comes to food, you cannot go wrong by serving Austin mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese.

Austin has had some past disappointment regarding adoption but is open to learning about families that may be interested in him. It is important for Austin to maintain a relationship with some of his extended birth family members. Adoptive parents would need to be supportive of this.

If you think you may be the family for Austin, please contact Jana Howell, Greene County Children Services Adoption Caseworker, at (937) 562-6600, ext. 694.
Michal & Gary availale to adopt from Greene County Children Services
Eight year old Michal and six year old Gary have been placed in the same foster home since January, 2012, and have made tremendous progress. These outgoing kids are great playmates. They would be especially happy to find a family that allows them to get a kitten.

Michal is in the first grade this year. Michal has improved in some subjects but needs to continue to work on her reading and writing skills. When not at school, Michal enjoys watching shows on the Disney Channel or listening to her favorite pop star, Justin Bieber. Pizza, ice cream and popcorn are among her favorite treats.

Gary is in kindergarten. Gary reports that the best part about school is getting to make things in art class. Gary’s favorite thing to do is play computer games. Watching tv and playing outside also rank high on Gary’s list. If Gary got to choose anything for dinner, he would pick corn dogs, vegetables and bananas. Gary says he is just like a monkey because he likes bananas so much.

Michal and Gary are currently in counseling to help them cope with issues from their past. Counseling services will need to be continued after they are placed with an adoptive family. If you think you may be the right family for this dynamic duo, please contact Jana Howell, Greene County Children Services Adoption Caseworker, at 937-562-6600, ext.694
